King Oyster (Pleurotus Eryngii)

Also known as the King Trumpet mushroom, this incredible variety grows very large fruiting bodies which can be prepared in a number of different ways. They have a tall, tree-like appearance and a thick white stem. Originating from the Mediterranean region, they have grown in popularity in recent years. King oysters have a mild flavor that lends itself to being cooked with flavorful sauces and marinades. The caps and stems are fully edible.
